Petra Christian University (PCU) is pleased to host the 6th Asia-Pacific Regional Conference on Service-Learning.

Nowadays, many universities adopt service-learning in their curriculum, as it could address the three-pronged mission of various universities, namely, teaching, research, and service. Service-learning is also a progressive and innovative teaching pedagogy to help students prepare for the future by building stronger academic skills, foster civic responsibility, and develop leadership skills in schools, organizations, communities, and beyond. In the conference under the theme of "Educating the Heart: Nurturing a Fruitful Life through Service-Learning," PCU tries to provide a platform for exploring new ideas on service-learning.  The theme of this conference conveys a meaning that a fruitful life, that is living our life meaningfully to love and serve others, is only possible by educating our heart. Through service-learning (S-L), the process of developing such qualities is facilitated.

Faculty members, students, teachers, practitioners, scholars service-learning experts are welcome to offer both global and local perspectives on the idea and the implementation of service-learning in a wide range of social and cultural contexts. We believe that this conference could provide an opportunity for participants to exchange ideas, obtain valuable experiences, and broaden their academic knowledge and networking.

Abstracts proposed for the conference are welcome. Participants have the option to submit full paper, which will be selected for publication in Citizenship Teaching and Learning Journal (Scopus indexed journal).
